Wings of America began the "Pursuit" Program in 2017 to provide American Indian High School juniors with an opportunity to broaden their educational horizons while experiencing one of the greatest foot races in the world; The Boston Marathon.
In collaboration with the Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A.) and the Harvard University Native American Program, the Pursuit Program provides students with top-notch college readiness training and unforgettable experiences to fuel their passion for running. The B.A.A. also provides a number of "charity bibs" to Wings to help cover the cost of the students' trip.
This year, Verna Volker (Diné) and Dr. Lydia Jennings (Pascua Yaqui) have volunteered to run on behalf of future Pursuit Program students.
Please donate to honor their commitment to Native youth and help the program continue! Make a one-time donation OR pledge an amount for every mile they log toward their training goals in the 8-weeks leading up to the Marathon (February 21-April 18th). Either way, know that your contribution will help Native runners go the distance!
Your donation will be processed by the Charity on Top Foundation. Charity on Top Foundation is a California-based registered nonprofit organization that supports 1.8 million charities and extends its licensing and benefits to entities like Questify. *100% of your contribution is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law, provided that no goods or services will have been provided to you in return for your donation.
